Zac Scott // Fox Single Launch // With Grayling & Kate Kyle

7.00

Fresh from announcing his debut album, “For The Love Of…” Zac Scott invites you to The Old Hairdressers on June 4th 2019 to celebrate the launch of his first single from the collection, “Fox.”

Fox is characterised by Zac’s distinctive vocals, an elegant string section and a very memorable chorus. With intensely intimate and confessional lyrics, Fox is a great taster for what is yet to come from the 25-year-old. His new music is inspired by his experiences over the last few years in the north of Scotland and the south of Iceland and was recorded in Glasgow’s Southside with producer Thomas Brumby.

With performances from Dumfries and Galloway’s Kate Kyle (“…possibly the finest songwriting I’ve heard from someone of this age” Bruce McKenzie D&G Life) and Glasgow’s Grayling (“…heart felt lyrics and melodies inspired by the music of the 60’s…”) Zac will perform his new music with a striking 7-piece band, including a string trio.

Advance Tickets priced at £7.00 are available now!

Artist Bio: Zac is a Glasgow based songwriter whose latest work has been devised from his experiences over the last few years in Scottish and Icelandic landscapes. His new music is bold and intimately scenic, featuring an ethereal soundscape created by strings, synths and cymbals, capturing the essence of those similar environments. This has been made possible by working with a core group of musicians (Stuart Macpherson, Cameron Black, Sarah McWhinney, Kenny Cormack, Grace Dale and Gudrun Soley Siguradardottir) over a long period of development. Zac performs in a variety of set ups – solo, 3-piece and a 7-piece (including a string trio). Influenced by the likes of James Blake, David Gray and Olafur Arnalds, this emerging artist is one to watch out for in 2019.

OTHER WORK: Zac Scott is a songwriter and teaching artist based in Glasgow, Scotland. He recently trained at Lincoln Center Education, New York and graduated from BA (Hons) Contemporary Performance Practice at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he also won The Mary Stuart Prize for Public Speaking.

Recently, he has worked with the Weill Music Institute at Carnegie Hall New York, Paragon Music, Starcatchers, Support in Mind Scotland, The Academy of Music and Sound, Platform and The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
